Reopening of the Roosevelt Pools Marks a New Chapter in Georgia’s Historic Legacy
On August 21, 2025, the historic Roosevelt Pools in Warm Springs officially reopened with a stirring ribbon-cutting ceremony. Spearheaded by Prime Contractors, Inc. and managed expertly by Gary Frantz, this restoration project rejuvenated the iconic site where President Franklin D. Roosevelt once sought healing and found inspiration for national change.
Restoring a Historic Oasis
Once suffering deterioration and unable to hold water, the pools have now been lovingly restored, both structurally and contextually, preserving their spirit and significance. The warm spring, with its therapeutic 88°F flow of 914 gallons per minute, continues to offer visitors the same healing ambiance that inspired FDR nearly a century ago.
This story of renewal echoes the themes highlighted in this article, reminding us that preserving history requires both vision and craftsmanship. At Prime Contractors, Inc., we are honored to have led this effort, restoring not just structures, but the enduring spirit of a place that continues to inspire generations.
Celebrating Partnership & Vision
The ceremony reflected years of coordinated effort:
- Prime Contractors, Inc., bringing construction mastery to historic preservation.
- Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Friends of Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites, and the Little White House Advisory Board, providing essential stewardship and advocacy.
- Funding and philanthropic support from the National Park Service, Callaway Foundation, and public fundraising campaigns.
Looking Forward
As the Roosevelt Pools reopen to visitors, they offer more than a scenic landmark—they embody resilience, renewal, and the enduring power of history to inspire community healing. The site now features educational programming, immersive tours, and ongoing public engagement to honor its legacy.
