The Reconstruction of Doc's Cafe: One of Roswell’s Historic Places

Doc's Cafe at Mimosa Hall & Gardens in Roswell

We’re proud to share our latest restoration project: Doc’s Café at Mimosa Hall & Gardens in Roswell, Georgia.

Originally built in the 1940s and affectionately named after Dr. Francis Goulding, Doc’s Café has long been a quiet cornerstone of Roswell’s local charm. As part of the city’s vision to preserve and revitalize historic spaces, Prime Contractors Inc. was honored to lead the restoration of this beloved structure, carefully balancing modern upgrades with historical integrity.

Our scope of work included:

  • Structural restoration to ensure safety and longevity
  • Exterior and interior refinishing to preserve the building’s original character
  • Modernized infrastructure to support new community programming and accessibility

Today, the City of Roswell is taking a thoughtful approach to ensure its story is not lost. Instead of demolition, the café is undergoing deconstruction; a slower, careful process that catalogs materials and creates digital scans in order to safeguard this historically significant place.

We’re grateful to play a role in preserving Roswell’s history while supporting its growth, and we look forward to seeing Doc’s Café serve residents and visitors for years to come.
